  1. you will not be able to register it or drive it home without insurance.
  2. You can buy the car but you can't drive it away without insurance - if it's not long before you can afford the insurance ask if you can leave a deposit or pay for it in full then pick it up when your insurance comes through. Or if you know anyone with insurance that enables them to drive any car then they could drive it home for you until you get your insurance sorted out.
  3. Sometimes you can buy short-term insurance intended for this very situation, good for a day or two. You should be able to buy the car from the owner without licencing it. You could also always have it towed to someplace where you can park it until you can afford insurance to drive it, and you should be able to buy insurance to cover theft or vandalism while it's off the road, but you can't usually park a car on a public road unless it has insurance for driving it.
  4. You did not list where you live typically NO you do not have to show insurance when transferring ownership and licensing the car. If your getting a loan the bank will want FULL COVERAGE insurance if you owe a certain amount.
  5. If you do not have enough money for insurance you do not have enough money for the car. Generally you need to have insurance to register a car. And unless you're talking about some rare classic or something, you need to be willing to let this car go. Otherwise the seller (particularly a dealer) will use your attachment to it to SCREW you.
