I mean I want to finance a used car tomorrow, but I dont have insurance. would I be able to drive it off?
Public Comments
- Yes, but probably not legally.
- not if you are buying it from a dealership. You are going to have to have some kind of insurance. If you are financing it you are going to have to have full coverage if you are buying it out right you will have to have atleast no fault insurance. good luck
- Yes b/c you can't have insurance that same second you buy the car. Duh. That's what you have to do, drive the car home when you buy it and then withiin a week you should get insurance on it.
- You should be able to drive it off the lot to your home i believe that you can but you should get liability at least it wouldn't cost you much as long as you have a good driving record.
- Use yellow pages (book or on line) Find insurance agent (broker) that you like Use telephone Call insurance agent!
- Not in Pennsylvania you can't, you must have proof of insurance here.
- That depends on the state you live in . In our state you must show proof of ins. before your are allowed to get tags. You have to have tags to drive. Also, the lending co. might want proof of ins. before they lend money. Can you afford just liability? Good Luck!!!
- we just bought a new vehicle and didnt have to show the dealership any proof of insurance however if we had crashed we would have had to fix it our self. so go to the dealership buy the car and then call an insurance company and buy insurance
- No, car dealerships will require proof of insurance before you sign ownership papers and drive it off their lot. This is to protect them while you are ON their lot.
- no call a insurance company.
- cars dont work without insurance.
- You cannot drive the car off the lot without insurance. If you are financing the car, the finance company will not finance without insurance. The dealership will ask you where you have insurance, too. You should arrange for insurance before you go to pick up the car. If you don't the finance company will arrange insurance, and the cost will be added to the amount that you are financing. I've bought many cars over the years, and just 2 months ago I bought a car. I don't know about the state that you live in, but in Florida and New York, you can't drive a car without insurance.
- No.
- No. Car lot may have a temp plate in which they can drive your car home.(Been awhile since I bought one) After that, it is your problem.
- Depends on the state. I don't think you can drive a car without insurance (or registration) in Maryland.
