Used car insurance?

If you get insurance for a used car, will they still fix your windsheild?

Public Comments

  1. if its covered under your insurance
  2. ....if you buy the appropriate kind of coverage.....and the windshield was damaged during your policy period? yes. Windshield rock chips, cracks would be covered under comprehensive coverage....less your deductible. Some states have mandatory safety glass coverage (like KY) and some states have full glass coverage endorsements that can be added to your policy (like AZ). Ciao~ ~jifr!
  3. From your question I take it that you bought the used car and it had a crack in the windsheild, so in that case they will not fix it. However some companies I have been with are extremely lazy and have not even done a check of my car or made me show them a vehcile inspection for insurance. So they would have no clue when the crack happened... However if you had glass coverage and it got cracked after you purchased the car then yes they would fix it.
  4. Not if it's already broken.
  5. only if you purchase comprehensive coverage. Liability only coverage does not cover any damage to your vehicle
  6. As long as it wasn't cracked before your insurance was put into effect. They won't pay for previous damage. Windshields are covered under comprehensive coverage, not liability.
