How much are insurance costs on a new car versus a used car?

I know it's going to be expensive, but to make matters worse I'm only 16.

  1. yea uhm the new car ur gunna have to get full coveragee untill ur car is paid off in illinois. but wen i was 16 progressive wantes 1400 for liability every6 months then state farm wanted 1000 then i found this really cheap place ha for 600
  2. It depends on the car and if it's financed.
  3. The cheapest way to insure a 16 year old is to buy a cheap car and pay cash. That way you don't have to carry full coverage on the vehicle. For my 2 teenagers (with clean records), I pay about $1,400 each per year. If they had a car with a loan it, the premium would increase roughtly another $800 annually on top of the $1,400 figure! Good Luck!
  4. If you are getting a loan for a new car you will have to have full coverage which is much higher then liability coverage on a used car( if you buy the used car without a loan that is) I will never buy a brand new car. don't like money going from my pocket to a car sales men's.

  6. There are lots of companies online that you could get a free car insurance quote rate. You just fill-up the form and then compare it among the others. There are certain factors in getting your cheap car insurance. Depends on the car, state, age, driving record, etc. Don't go with sports cars and new model cars. They have expensive auto insurance. Good luck on your search... Drive safe...
  7. very intereting question.Suggest you have a look here for useful tips.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/get-cheap-car-insurance-and-van-insurance-quote-fr.html
  8. if you buy a new car as a lease you will need full coverage and i would say about 1000 for a 6 month policy, if you buy a car with a loan, you still need full coverage but your liability doesnt need to be as high. if you buy a cheap car with cash you can insure it with no fault, or plpd, just liability for around 600 every 6 months, the older the car the cheaper, most of the time.
