which one is better All State or Farmers Insurance for cars?

I am looking for another car insurance company: Does anyone have any input on which is gives better service?

  1. Honestly, both are about the same. I'm an insurance agent, but I'm not with either of these companies though. If I had to choose between the two though, it would be Farmers. I say that because I see Allstate customers coming to me all the time, unhappy with their agent or service. Normally it's more difficult to get Farmers customers to switch over to me.
  2. Having worked for both, I have to say, I prefer Allstate. Farmers is more expensive and their claims service is nowhere near Allstate's. In the event of a claim, you want to be taken care of.
  3. Honestly I dont care for either one. I know the question is which one is better but they both have very bad faults. Allstate will not pay out on accident claims, I have even heard the excuse that "I know our insured ran the stop sign but your insured should have avoided him so we are only accepting 80% liability, and you have to cover the other 20%" I think that is one of the most ridiculous things i have ever heard. And Farmers just increases their rates on their clients. On average this Feb 1 the rates went up 14% and last year they had 2 rate increases, I know this /c I work there... I do work for Farmers but I also have State Farm insurance. Im not sure who you have now and why you need to change but seriously do some research on whichever company you plan to go with. Good luck!
  4. I don't work for either, but I deal with both on a regular basis. If I HAD to choose between the two of them, I would go with Farmers. I can't stand the way Allstate handles their claims. They are BY FAR the most difficult company to deal with!! I don't know how they treat their own customers, but if it's anything like how they treat everyone else, I'd stay away! They try to make the whole process so frustrating that you'll just throw your hands up and say "forget it." I try to handle ALL my claims on claimants exactly like I handle them for our customers, but I don't think Allstate has the same mentality. If you live in TN, edit your question and I'll make my personal recommendation for insurance companies. If not, stick with Farmers.
  5. It sounds like a not easy cracking nut, have a look here, you should find something useful for you.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/free-online-car-insurance-quote.html
  6. I recommend you avoid BOTH Farmers Insurance and Allstate. Here are some alternatives to research: http://www.farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com/alternatives.htm
