  1. Call your insurance company; they will know the exact number. Yes, it will be quite a bit more than what you are paying now.
  2. There are too many variables that go into auto insurance pricing to give you an accurate answer here. Your best bet is to contact the company directly and ask for a quote. Regards
  3. if kids have a good grade average it helps, so be sure a tell them, but like they said verys from state to state and from insurance to insurance so pays to shop around too
  4. Typically, it depends on the insurance company, the region you live and the age and driving habits of your teenager. A couple of GOOD things about Mercury - 1) they let YOU depict WHO is driving WHICH vehicle (where some insurance companies rate the highest rated driver - your teenager - on the highest rated vehicle -you Lexus - when he/she really drives the little pickup and wouldn't get caught DEAD riving your Lexus and 2) they offer a Good Student Discount - so, it's important for your teenager to make good grades in school (and they WILL check!) So, bottom line - call your agent and ask them what it would cost. The can also advise you as to what TYPE of auto would be best to have your teenager driving. Good luck and I hope this helps!
  5. Well, of course, it will be a good bit - it always is with teens. But you should be sure to ask for a multiple vehicle discount, and a good student discount (if it applies). You can also see if they will give you an additional discount if your teen takes a defensive driving course. Also, if the cars have specific safety features name each one of them and ask for discounts for each one. They can give you those if you bring them up specifically. It is definitely cheaper to add them to your policy than for them to have a separate policy.
