Is Diamond Car Insurance for women being sexist?
Never really thought about until now and I guess it is. But do us guys really give a ****? If a guy is sexist all the women get up in arms. If a women is sexist we don't really bother. It aint worth the nagging and moaning. Womens rights and all that p***!

- Stop crying darling
- Yes it is sexist. BUT just try to take them to court for refusing to give you insurance because you are a man!! Insurance for men would not be allowed, but as fellahs we dont really care!
- About car insurance. Women get lower rates because well, we're just overall much more responsible. (When a man gets married, his rates automatically go down, because he's settling down, or whatever. But when a woman gets married, her rates go UP! Tha's because men are a liability to women this way- they're just more likely to mess up on the road.) By not taking on men, if that's true, then this company is seriously lowering its pay-outs. Doesn't sound right. They could charge a lot less per female, and take out a monopoly on women. At that rate, all the other companies would have to raise their rates as to be unaffordable, or go bankrupt! Not a good look. Anyway, this whole thing is about money, and that's that.
- Statistically women are 'safer drivers' But Diamond allows additional male or female drivers.
- Yes...they are discriminating on the basis of gender.
- Couldnt agree more dude although I have heard that they WILL insure us guys if we learn to use the mirrors to apply make up while driving and talk to our passengers while paying little or no attention to where we are going at the time
- I'm a woman and I guess you are right. They're expensive anyway so I wouldn't bother with them. I got a quote last year and they were £300 dearer than my cheapest quote. So much for cheaper car insurance for women.
- yep to right, but they "only insure lady drivers because there safer"!. what a load of do-dah women said they wanted equal rights we gave it to them but they still expect special treatment talk about taking the p*ss!. But then it opens a new debate of being ageist.
- No of course not. Let me explain. Discrimination against men is not sexist. Discrimination against women is. Simple, isn't it?
- Well the fact is women are safer drivers so it's only fair for them to get cheaper insurance. Companies like Diamond and Shiela's wheels legally have to insure men too but it will probably cost you more.
- Statistically women have twice as many claims as men but this is for trivial things like backing into a street light but men's claims cost twice as much as all those women's claims because they write off cars in their claims more often than women therefore the cost of insuring men is a lot more that the cost of the ladies put there so although Diamond is technically being sexist they are no more 'ist' than e-sure only covering safe drivers with 4 or more years no claims or Saga covering only over 50s. They are choosing the statistically safer people to insure. But I do hate the adverts (and Sheila's wheels!!!!) and I am female.
- It probably is being sexist but making out it is exclusive.Anyway,I rang for a quote and they were one of the most expensive so don't be fooled by them girls. It is obviously a male owned company.
- So what? I`m not bothered. Why should anyone else be?
- nope! because women are the safest drivers and they should be rewarded for it!
