do people that have car insurance full coverage leave their cars open?

and your windows down if its a really hot day. i mean it really does not matter since your insurance covers it right? all you pay is the deductible which is only like 250$... if your car gets stolen ... also .. isnt it to your advantage because you'll just get a new car?....

  1. no. Car insurance companies aren't stupid. They will just make you pay higher payments.
  2. i drove without insurance for like ovger a year and i did unless im in a town a unfamiliar town then i lock up and take out my stero....if your that worries get an alarm, you can have your windowsn down but if the alarm is on and the door is open then woop woop or if they stick ther arm in and pull the unlocker pin open woop woop no matter what if you dont have the key the alarm will sound
  3. The insurance company will never pay what you paid for your car! They give you what it's worth, and a new car loses value the minute you drive it off the lot.
  4. You don't "get a new car". You get the fair market value of the stolen car (sometimes & maybe). If they find that you left the windows open, they may noy pay you at all. What you have described is not wise.
  5. gee what an attitude to have, hope the ones like this are far and in between. But yeah, when I am bored I leave doors open and keys in the ignition then hide with a baseball bat to see if I can catch myself a thief for dinner! lol.
  6. First of all, if your vehicle is stolen your insurance company doesnt buy you a new car. Secondly, it is foolish to leave your vehicle unsecure. Some auto policies have exclusions in regards to theft for "No Forcible Entry" Meaning if you are an idiot and leave your car open, and a thief just hops on in bc the door was unlocked, the insurance is not going to cover the theft. Also, if someone steals your personal items from inside your car bc your windows are down and doors unlocked, that also is NOT going ot be covered on your car insurance. Auto policies do not cover personal property inside your vehicle.
  7. That is called a moral hazard. If you have $250 laying around that you want to flush down the toilet and a lot of extra time on your hands to replace everything... and a property policy to cover items in the vehicle that are not a part of it (and more money to cover that deductible) and then some more money on top of that to cover the increased insurance rates.. go for it. But as mentioned, your own policy if for market value... not repalcement cost. So you will simply be left with a check for the value of the vehicle stolen, less $250... and a HUGE headache.
  8. LOL.. A site I've recommended in the past would be... http://www.surveyland.org/jump.php?link=insurance Hope that helps.
