Car insurance for new young drivers.?
I'm 17 and I got my license about 5 months ago but I still don't have car insurance because my mom keeps insisting that the longer I wait, the cheaper car insurance will be for me. Is this true?

- experience wise yes but financially not much.
- Yes, it's true. But, that's a long wait, you won't see a rate decrease until age 25. Your mom just doesn't want to pay for it. It's about 250 a month in California, for a teen driver. You could get disability, which is cheaper, that only covers the car you hit, not your car.
- your car insurance rates will stay high until you turn 21. The reason why is because females ages 16-21 are higher risk. However, female drivers rates are lower than males. Male drivers rates do not go down until they turn 25. When you do sign up for insurance, make sure you get all the possible discounts. They can give you a discount for driver's education, or a safety course (defensive driving). The longer you have insurance with no accidents or tickets, the better the rate you will pay.
- No. You need to be added to your parents insurance policy the minute you get your license.

- Well, a couple of things you might want to consider.I've had good luck here... http://insurance.online-assistant.info
- Well technically yes, insurance gets cheaper as you get older but are you going to wait till you're like in your 20s to get a car? I mean it's always going to be cheaper as you get older. Check out http://www.ez-insurancesearch.com they have some great info and gives instant quotes from providers in your area. You'd be surprised that sometimes insurance isn't that expensive when you find the right one.
