Is it legal to own multiple cars while having only one car insurance?

I am in California.. Do I need to pay for insurance fees of two cars separately? or one insurance payment will cover both?

  1. either the policy has to have both vehicles or each vehicle has to have individual policies
  2. Insurance is by the VIN number so you can have one agent but multiple policies.
  3. i think you have to put it on indivisible but you should call the place and ask
  4. each car has to be insured here in California and a new law came out that if you canceled your insurance DMV is notified by the insurance company and your registration of your vehicle is suspended,if you get pulled over and do not have insurance the tickey is very expensive Just add the other vehicle to your other policy.
  5. Both cars need to be insured. Some insurance companies will send you one bill for both cars but our Farmer's Insurance sends us two separate bills and they arrive together. Once when we paid it, they applied all the payment to one car and then notified us the other insurance was in default. What a mess.
  6. Technically, yes. But here in Arizona at least, all registered vehicles must have a minimum of liability insurance and all registered vehicles that still have a lienholder must be fully insured.
  7. Every registered car has to have insurance. If not they cannot be driven but you may own them.
  8. AS LONG AS THEY ARE ALL ON ONE POLICY YOU CAN HAVE 10 VEHICLES ON ONE POLICY PLUS THE MORE VEHICLES THAT YOU HAVE ON A POLICY THE RATES WILL BE BETTER.
