1. i dont know about which company, but i do know that you should take out a separate policy on the teen. we did that with my daughter and it was cheaper and if she had any problems it was on her not me. it wont hurt anything to check it out. good luck.
2. Use your parents' policy. Progressive is good for teens though.
3. i have all state its $800/year and i have good student, good parent driver, and i watched the movie discount
