car insurance, additional driver add on rates?

i currently finaced a suv with my dad, but i don't live with him, and he's the buyer, but im the primary driver. he already called in and got insurance for the suv, but my name is not yet added to the policy. Can i add my name into the policy?, considering that I live at a different location. Can I also drive the car if he had already added the suv into the policy? what will my rates be on average, considering that i am a teen driver, and a graduate but not attending school at the time? I called them to ask for a quote on the rates but they told me that they wou;d send my dad a form to fill out, that would exempt me from driving any of his cars. How do i drive my suv that i helped co-sign for?
