Is a 1994 Eagle Talon Esi good for a teen Insurance and Saftey wise?

Hi I am look at an 1994 Eagle Talon and I thinking about buying it. But is it a good car for a teen just for a daily driver? How about the insurance rates will it be high?

  1. No. A 94 has fair crash ratings and mousetrap belts. Airbags never happened in 1Gs.
  2. well with the car being a 94 you not going to put full coverage on it and if you do your research liablity is the same for a metro as it is a porche in must cases so no that done i would say the esi is a good start car the only problem i would see is that you have to remember that this car has power roots and your buying a base model so what happens is all of your son or daughters friends are going to have a gst or gsx witch are the power models but being 16 because the car looks the same they will try to keep up with those and the motor is the same only it has no turbo bare with me there is a point here some where when i was 16 and i bought my frist esi i think in six months i went throw 2 trannys not that they are bad but they are not built like the turbo models and when you bang gears every stop light they tend to break after a while and quik if the learn that if you shift with no clutch and just stab a gear you can almost keep up so its a catch 22 yes its safe cause they are not as fast as a turbo model and i have saw when my freind wreaked his and did 5 cart wheels he had two scraches on him not the cars fault he recked his heart failed and the airbag acttualy restarted his heart but back to the point safe yes durablity good as long as they drive with a head on there shoulders insurance i dont know about your state but in missouri $60 a month is what my brother who is 16 pays for his and its in his name only hope this helps
