If i buy a used Kia from shaver in ca, is it necessary to have full coverage car insurance?

- It doesn't matter where you buy the car. You only need full coverage insurance if you are making payments on it. BTW...'Hi' from a Fresno-ian. I grew up visiting Dinkey all the time.
- If you have a lien on it you should have full coverage--some states require it. You don't have to have full coverage if nothing is owed on it.
- You need to have insurance on anything that you drive for your protection as well as for everyone else. To answer your question concerning the dealership named "shaver", I have seen a dealership in my hometown named "trusted autos", go figure.
- If when you buy the car you set up financing, yes you do need to carry full coverage car insurance. If you took out a personal loan and then when and bought the car with it, in that case you would not have to carry insurance because it was a personal loan. The bank that borrowed you the money has no idea it is for a car because it could be for whatever you want. HOWEVER: I would not suggest buying a car and then driving it without car insurance. If you got in an accident, it could become very costly! Good luck.
