I want to purchase a nice USED car, but I want insurance from out of state? How can I get that?

I want to buy a car directly from the seller and a good running car and I want to be insured out of state. I have a few questions: 1. What is the best and cheapest insurance I can go for? 2. How can I get out of state insurance? 3. What type of used car that you highly recommend me to by?

  1. Forget it. You can't get out of state insurance coverage.
  2. This is illegal. Your car must be insured for the state it is registered and driven in (which needs to be where yo live). The best way to find insurance is just to shop around. Go to 3-4 websites and type in sample car information to see what it would cost in your neighborhood. For types of used cars, unless you share your budget and what you are going to use the car for (daily commute, driving friends/family, etc) no one will be able to give you a relevant answer. Be sure to check the carfax report on whatever car you end up purchasing though, before you buy it. I will give you the history of the vehicle so you know about any accidents/damage it's sustained.
  3. http://autoinsurance.noneto.com - you can try this company. I personally have their car insurance. It's cheap for used cars. But anyway you should insure car in the state of its registration.
